The Beginning of My Journey

January 1st 2014, I was a new mom breastfeeding a newborn and had a busy 4 year old feeling tired and self conscious. After scrolling through my Facebook news feed I came across a friends post of her before and after pictures, it was amazing what she had accomplished. She was working out and clean eating, I thought to myself I can do that so I messaged her and got all the details on what the heck clean eating was. We were living in California at the time and I knew no one, I spent my days with my kids and waited for my hubby to come home from work. I decided I would dig out my burned copies of Insanity and get started right away. I was nervous, why because I always started something and had my mind set then I would fail and give up on myself. This time I was serious, this time I felt different about it,  I was sick of feeling bad about myself and it was the worst feeling going into my closet and none of my jeans fit! So January 1st day 1 the fit test yikes, measurements, and before pictures,  it was so hard but I pushed myself and got through the 30 minutes of brutal cardio. I recorded my stats, felt that amazing post workout high and moved on to the next day, I was sore but I pushed play! I researched What Is Clean Eating? How do you eat Clean? I went grocery shopping for fresh whole food, and I was determined to track all my food in take. I know eating healthy was my biggest challenge but, I found what I liked and that was healthy did lots and lots of research and eventually became a habit. It was tough finding the motivation every morning, my kids wouldn’t cooperate and that made it hard. But Guess what I pushed myself to workout I would tell myself every day remember how you feel after your workout you can do this, I felt myself changing each day and getting better. Insanity wasn’t getting easier I was getting stronger. I remember walking into to my kitchen each day crossing off 1-2-3 days on my calendar and before I knew it I was on day 30, wow that went by fast I took after pictures at about 3 weeks into it and was amazed at the results my waist and hips were shrinking! I remember getting frustrated with the scale when it would go up and down but pictures do not lie! I remember that day like it was yesterday, I was addicted and wanted to see more results nothing was stopping me!  So 2 months into the program, I felt awesome, I actually wanted to workout and I was down 20 lbs and 4 inches on my waist! What an amazing feeling knowing I did all of that on my own, no gimmicks, or pills, just good old clean eating and working out! I preach consistency every single day, no matter what you are doing if you aren’t consistent you will NOT see results!
